Glenn Maxwell bagged a golden duck on his return to Punjab Kings (PBKS) in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025. Maxwell, who was bought by PBKS for Rs 4.20 crore fell to Sai Kishore off the first ball he faced against Gujarat Titans (GT).

Maxwell who fell LBW to Sai Kishore, did not opt to review the dismissal and he was praised by on-air commentators for his selflessness.
Maxwell, who was previously with Royal Challengers Bangalore, had played for PBKS in multiple seasons and was their star performer in 2014 with 552 runs at a strike-rate of 187.75.
Maxwell would later go on to reveal a fallout with then PBKS team mentor Virender Sehwag after a disastrous season – the Australia all-rounder was captain that summer.
Maxwell has often been criticised for his lack of performances in the IPL given the fact that he mostly draws the big bucks in every auction. Maxwell was in terrible form in 2024, managing only 52 runs from 10 matches at an average of 5.78, a far cry from the 400 he scored in 2023 at a strike-rate of 183.49.
