DRS, April 13: Sanju Samson booed by RCB fans, GT player injured & Rohit Sharma to miss DC vs MI match?

Welcome to our special segment, DRS or the Daily Review System. In this, InsideSport will provide you with the top cricket stories from a day before that you might have missed in the hustle and bustle of your busy life.

April 12 was a double-header day in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025. It was Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) vs Punjab Kings (PBKS) and Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) vs Gujarat Titans (GT). Before the matches started, GT provided a Glenn Phillips update. After that, we saw another poor performance from Rishabh Pant and SRH teammates Mohammed Shami and Abhishek Sharma creating records.

Rajasthan Royals (RR) captain Sanju Samson was heckled by Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB), and former Mumbai Indians (MI) captain Rohit Sharma may not take the field against the Delhi Capitals (DC) at the Arun Jaitley Stadium.

Abhishek Sharma records highest IPL score by an Indian

Abhishek Sharma went on a rampage in Hyderabad. The opener had failed to have any impact and course correct by scoring 141 runs against PBKS. All his teammates scored just 90 runs. The score was the highest for any Indian batter in the IPL and the third highest of all time. Only Chris Gayle has scored more boundaries than him in an innings in the IPL.

Rohit Sharma out of DC vs MI match?

Rohit Sharma still hasn’t recovered from his knee injury. The former MI captain was spotted wearing a protective band on his left knee before the MI vs DC clash in Delhi. He had injured himself about two weeks ago, and it appears that he’s still struggling. There is doubt over his participation, as he’s already missed one match due to the same issue.

Rishabh Pant’s unimpressive IPL 2025 continues

Rishabh Pant failed yet again. After playing six matches, the LSG captain has scored just 40 runs, and that too at an abysmal strike rate of 80. He promoted himself to opener in Mitchell Marsh’s absence, but that didn’t work out for him. He scored 21 (18) against the Gujarat Titans, and this was despite getting dropped by Jos Buttler.

Sanju Samson booed by his own

Sanju Samson was jeered by the crowd in his IPL home. Attending an event at a college in Jaipur, the RR captain was welcomed by boos from the students. “Sanju Samson haay haay,” they chanted. Shockingly, the crowd supported RR’s next opponents, as they chanted ‘RCB, RCB’.

Mohammed Shami bags shameful figures

It wasn’t a bowler’s day in Hyderabad. But no one did worse than Mohammed Shami. The purple cap holder of the IPL 2023 season was smashed for 75 runs in 4 overs by PBKS. And he failed to get a wicket. These are the second-worst bowling figures of all time in the IPL. Had Shami been hit for 2 more runs, he would have claimed the record.

Gujarat Titans lose Glenn Phillips

GT has lost a second overseas player. Kagiso Rabada went home for an indefinite period due to personal reasons, and now they have lost Glenn Phillips to injury. The New Zealander sustained a groin injury while fielding in the previous GT match and has returned home.
