A veteran knows how to deceive the opposition captain, and that’s exactly what RCB’s Josh Hazlewood did to Chennai Super Kings skipper Ruturaj Gaikwad. The CSK captain didn’t score much—in fact, to put it exactly, he got out for zero. Gaikwad came, and Gaikwad went, falling for a four-ball duck.
CSK is currently in deep trouble, as chasing the 197-run target doesn’t seem easy. There were expectations that Ruturaj Gaikwad would work his magic, just as he did in the last game, where he played a composed knock of 53 off 26 balls against Mumbai Indians. However, today, he failed to make an impact, leaving his team in a difficult situation.
Rahul Tripathi fails to deliver once again
Currently, the name facing maximum scrutiny is Rahul Tripathi, who got a chance to open the innings. It’s fair to say that Ruturaj Gaikwad sacrificed his spot, as CSK management believed that Tripathi’s aggressive style during the powerplay could benefit the team. However, that plan hasn’t worked so far, as he once again got out cheaply.
He is under pressure, and it will be interesting to see how things come for him in the upcoming games.
