IPL 2025 bonanza: Record Rs 4500 cr revenue from ads expected as JioStar secures 32 sponsors

IPL 2025 official broadcaster JioStar is targeting a record Rs 4500 crore from ad revenue in the upcoming edition of the tournament. KKR vs RCB on March 22 will mark the start of a new season of the cash-rich league. Earlier, the ICC Champions Trophy recorded a 23% increase in viewership on television compared to the ODI World Cup in 2023, as per BARC data.

IPL 2025 eyeing Rs 4500 cr in ad revenue

As per The Economic Times, JioStar has already secured 32 sponsorship deals. Many more are in the pipeline and are in the final stages of being agreed on. The report further claims that IPL 2025 official broadcaster is also aiming to boost its paid streaming subscribers to 100 million through direct sign-ups and telecom bundled deals. In 2024, the cumulative on TV and digital was approximately Rs 4000 crore.

The network has onboarded 1,100 advertisers, including large brands and small and medium enterprises. This year, JioStar has aggressively targeted SMEs, many of which typically advertise on Google and Meta. IPL ad packages for TV range from ₹40 crore to ₹240 crore. For regional partners, the packages are as low as ₹16 crore. For connected TV (CTV), it is ₹8.5 lakh per 10 seconds and ₹250 cost per impression on mobile,” the report read.

“IPL 2025 will be the biggest edition not just in terms of advertising but also subscriptions,” said JioStar chief executive, sports, Sanjog Gupta.
