180.5 crore in just 12 players, this is something no one has seen before, with 28 percent of the auction purse already spent acquiring marquee players. Initially, the total auction purse was Rs. 641.5 crore, but within a few minutes, it was reduced as teams acquired big players at big amounts. Some players secured massive bids, which piqued the interest of fans. There’s a massive change in the dynamics. If we look at what happened so far in the IPL auction, it’s clear that many things have came. All 12 players are now set to represent their respective teams in IPL 2025. As mentioned, some players saw huge price hikes, thanks to teams splurging amounts they hadn’t received in the past. Let’s see which players got the highest raises in the IPL 2025 mega auction.
Rishabh Pant
Rishabh Pant became the blue-eyed boy in the IPL auction 2025, starting with a bid of Rs 2 crore. LSG and RCB made the initial bids, but LSG placed the highest bid at Rs 20.75 crore. Delhi Capitals used their RTM, and LSG raised the bid to Rs 27 crore. In the end, Pant, who was earning Rs 16 crore in the past, saw a 68.75% salary hike.
Shreyas Iyer
The second most expensive player in the IPL 2025 auction is former KKR captain Shreyas Iyer, whose base price was Rs 2 crore. The bidding started at Rs 2.20 crore, and after interest from multiple teams, the bidding escalated. Initially, PBKS bid Rs 24.75 crore, but Delhi Capitals raised it to Rs 25 crore and then Rs 26 crore. However, PBKS ultimately secured Iyer for Rs 26.75 crore. Iyer, who received Rs 12.25 crore in the previous auction, now has an 118.37% increase in his IPL salary.
Arshdeep Singh
Starting at Rs 2 crore for India’s best T20 bowler, as predicted, teams like CSK made an early bid. However, the price suddenly shot up and quickly surpassed Rs 10 crore. Rajasthan Royals entered the bidding at Rs 11 crore, but it was Sunrisers Hyderabad who eventually bought Arshdeep Singh for Rs 15.75 crore. Punjab Kings used their RTM, and SRH raised the price to Rs 18 crore. PBKS then used RTM again, securing Arshdeep at Rs 18 crore. Looking at the hike, he now has a 350% salary increase.
Yuzvendra chahal
For IPL’s most successful bowler, GT started a bid of Rs 2 crore, but CSK, LSG, and PBKS quickly jumped in, pushing the price to Rs 18 crore, surpassing SRH’s earlier bid of Rs 17.75 crore. He also saw a massive splurge in his IPL salary, going from Rs 6.5 crore, which he was getting at Rajasthan Royals, to Rs 18 crore he will get now as PBKS came out on top.
Venkatesh Iyer
Similarly, for all IPL players, including KKR’s Venkatesh Iyer, who started with a base price of Rs 2 crore, initially, the team that released him, KKR, was followed by LSG, which started the bidding. After several rounds, Iyer’s price skyrocketed to Rs 22 crore, which RCB bid for, but eventually, KKR sealed the deal for Rs 23.75 crore. From Rs 8 crore in the last IPL, this represents a 197% hike.
