IPL 2025: 5 most expensive players in IPL who failed to deliver

IPL 2025 will feature its most expensive player, Rishabh Pant, who was acquired for Rs. 27 crore and is expected to showcase his charisma.

A recurrent trend in the IPL is that players with the biggest price tags frequently find it difficult to demonstrate their worth on the field. This lackluster performance could be attributed in part to the pressure of being the most expensive player in the IPL auction.

Rishabh Pant has fetched a whopping amount of Rs. 27 crore and become the highest-paid player in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025. Will he be able to break the trend and stand out in the upcoming season?

A number of players who were bought for record prices in IPL auctions over the years have fallen short of the high standards set for them. Here are five such players who failed to live up to league expectations despite their high price tags.
