IPL 2025: 4 players KKR might look to retain for IPL mega auction

KKR are the defending champions for the upcoming IPL 2025 edition.

IPL 2025: Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) made history when they went on to win their third title in 2024. Shreyas Iyer led them to success, as they defeated Sunrisers Hyderabad in the final to win the title. IPL 2024 was a dominating season for KKR as they only lost three games in the entire tournament. Most of their players performed for them, and they mostly dominated the tournament. On that note, let us check out 4 players KKR might retain for IPL mega auction.

Players KKR might retain for IPL mega auction

Sunil Narine

Sunil Narine was the best player in the IPL 2024 and had a major impact on the team’s win. He contributed in both departments and was pretty successful. Narine scored 488 runs at a strike rate of 180.74, with one century and three half-centuries. He also took 17 wickets at an excellent economy rate of 6.69. He has been one of the core players for KKR for years, and the franchise has always retained him. That is likely to be the same in 2025.

Andre Russell

Not just Narine; Andre Russell is another core member of the KKR setup in the IPL. The big West Indian all-rounder has been a match-winner for many seasons. He is a genuine all-rounder who bowls his four overs and can bat at any position, which is why KKR have already retained him over the years. He had a brilliant IPL 2024, and he scored 222 runs and also took 19 wickets.

Rinku Singh

Rinku Singh did not get to show his full potential with the bat in IPL 2024 thanks to KKR’s top order dominance. However, the left-handed batter has become an important member of the Kolkata side. The three-time IPL champs will surely look to bring back Rinku in the camp.

Varun Chakravarthy

Varun Chakravarthy is likely to be the fourth retention for Kolkata Knight Riders. The mystery spinner has been a leading wicket-taker for KKR since 2020. He has taken 17 or more wickets in four out of the last five seasons and has always performed well in big matches. He took 21 wickets in the IPL 2024 and was the second-highest wicket-taker. There are not many spinners that come with the ability that he possesses.
