The Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) have suffered a heartbreaking loss. The side, which was on a six-match winning streak, proved to be no match for the Rajasthan Royals (RR). Having crawled all the way from the bottom, RCB couldn’t live up to the promise and suffered a 4-wicket defeat in the IPL 2024 Eliminator.
Did Tushar Deshpande cross the line?
As if the defeat weren’t enough, RCB also found themselves getting mocked by people online. One of these trolls turned out to be Chennai Super Kings (CSK) star Tushar Deshpande. The pacer shared an image on his Instagram profile, mocking Bengaluru for their exit.
Known as the gentleman’s game, Deshpande certainly acts like one. One has to also remember that RCB didn’t beat CSK by fluke but worked hard for an impressive win that helped them get to the final four. It was also Dinesh Karthik’s farewell match, and the post can also be viewed as disrespectful to an IPL great who’s leaving the sport.
Knowing how much that elusive IPL trophy means to the whole RCB team and Virat Kohli in particular, the joke seems slightly out of touch. Kohli and RCB have been eyeing that cup for the last 17 years. Unfortunately for them, today wasn’t the day they got closer to their ultimate goal, but to rub it in their face isn’t what’s expected from a rival and competitor in Tushar Deshpande.
