The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) on Saturday announced Tata group as the title sponsors for the Indian Premier League (IPL) for a period of five years. The Tata group has paid about INR 2500 crore—the highest-ever sponsorship amount in the history of IPL to secure the deal. The Tata Group previously held the title sponsorship rights for the IPL in 2022 and 2023 and is also the title sponsor of the Women’s Premier League, the biggest women’s T20 league in the world.
“We are elated to announce the partnership with the TATA Group as the Title Sponsors of the IPL. The league has transcended borders, captivating audiences worldwide with its unmatched blend of skill, excitement, and entertainment. Similarly, the TATA Group, rooted in India, has emerged as a symbol of excellence, making its mark across diverse global sectors,” said BCCI secretary Jay Shah.
“This collaboration embodies the spirit of growth, innovation, and a mutual dedication to excellence. The unprecedented financial commitment reflects the immense scale and global impact of the IPL on the international sports stage,” he added.
IPL Title Sponsors
- DLF (2008-12): $100m for first four years, extended to $150 for five years.
- Pepsi (2013-15): Rs 396 Crore for five years
- Vivo (2016-19): Rs 200 crore for 2016-17, renewed to Rs 439.8 crore for 18-19
- Dream11 (2020): Rs 222 crore.
- Vivo (2021): Rs 439.8 crore
- Tata (2022-23): Rs 670 crore for two years
Tata (2024-29): Rs 2,500 crore
