Enjoying success in the Indian Premier League 2024 season at his new batting position, Rajasthan Royals batter Riyan Parag opened up about a critical conversation he had with Virat Kohli that changed him for the better. One of the best uncapped Indian players in the current IPL 2024, Parag is making massive strides a premier batter in the ongoing tournament.
RR flying, and so is Parag
Rajasthan Royals have been on a roll this season, winning 7 of their 8 matches in the IPL 2024 so far. The Sanju Samson-led side have already made big steps towards the playoff stages, and they brushed aside Mumbai Indians on Monday at their home ground by 9 wickets. Such has been the form of RR, that they did not have to use Riyan Parag against MI, the batter with the most runs for the team.
Riyan Parag has been in unbelievable form this IPL season. The explosive batter in third on the list of IPL Orange Cap standings with 318 runs in 8 matches. Only Travis Head and Virat Kohli lead Parag in terms of runs scored.
Kohli’s impact on Parag
However, Parag has not been in this peach of a form and has struggled quite a lot in the past. The batter on Monday opened up on a chat he had with Kohli that helped him quite a lot during his lean period.
“In my second year, I was having a bad phase in the IPL. I was discussing with him on how to get out of that phase and how he used to handle similar situations, so I can learn from his experience as well. He gave me a good 10-15 minutes of his time and shared a few things with me, I think that really helped me,” Parag told Jio Cinema.
