Punjab Kings have parted ways with batting consultant Wasim Jaffer ahead of the IPL 2024. Sanjay Bangar, appointed as the cricket director for the team, will now take on the additional role of batting coach. Bangar, who previously worked with RCB and served as India’s batting coach, will now guide Punjab Kings’ batting unit.
Despite Jaffer’s stint as batting consultant last season, Punjab Kings failed to qualify for the IPL 2023 playoffs. The team, known for underperforming in the IPL despite their solitary final appearance in 2014, had a disappointing campaign last year.
