The two biggest stars of the IPL, MS Dhoni and Virat Kohli, couldn’t be more far apart in how they handle themselves on the field. One is calm, cool, and collected, while the other is brash and in-your-face aggressive. But their former India teammate, Shikhar Dhawan, has revealed the one thing that makes them extra special when compared with others.
The two modern greats of the game will go against each other on March 22 in the IPL 2024 season opener. Talking with Star Sports ahead of cricket’s El Clasico between the Chennai Super Kings and Royal Challengers Bangalore, the Punjab Kings star opener revealed something common that he finds among the two.
“The determination, the willpower, and their self-belief are very strong. Both have such confidence that they’ll take their team out of trouble in the most difficult of situations.”
Although both have confidence in their abilities, they go differently about it. Dhawan talked about how both Virat Kohli and MS Dhoni have a unique way of handling these abilities. He said:
“Knowing your strengths is very important. Virat channels all his aggression in his batting, while Dhoni Bhai is very aggressive as well, but he channels it in a different manner, calmly.”
