IPL over for Liam Livingstone, PBKS all-rounder returns to England to prepare for T20 World Cup

Livingstone failed with both bat and ball in the IPL 2024 season and also picked up a knee injury during his time with the Punjab Kings.

English players in the IPL 2024 were set to leave once the league stage came to an end. However, for Liam Livingstone, the season has already ended. The all-rounder, who was playing for the Punjab Kings (PBKS), had picked up a knee injury during the season and managed to play just 7 matches.

Even when he did play, the returns expected from someone of his abilities were low. With PBKS already out of the race for the playoffs, the English all-rounder has decided to return home and mend his knee in time for the upcoming T20 World Cup 2024.

Livingstone took to Instagram to bid his team goodbye. Posting an image of the PBKS team, he wrote, “IPL done for another year, had to get my knee sorted for the upcoming World Cup. Thanks once again to the @punjabkingsipl fans for all their love and support. Disappointing season as a team and personally, but as always I loved every minute of playing in the @iplt20 ❤️”
