In a huge relief for the Chennai Super Kings franchise ahead of IPL 2024, Bangladesh pacer Mustafizur Rahman on Tuesday took to social media to announce that he is enroute to join the CSK camp ahead of IPL 2024. Mustafizur suffered an injury scare when he had to be stretchered off the field in the BAN vs SL 3rd ODI.
During the match, Rahman was first included in the playing XI. Tanzim Hasan Sakib, who suffered a hamstring injury prior to the match, was replaced by him. The final game at Chattogram saw Bangladesh win the tie and the series. However, it also provided a scare with Mustafizur Rahman being injured.
Mustafizur was halfway through his final over in the 48th over of the Sri Lankan innings when the incident happened. Mustafizur had already claimed two wickets. In his previous nine overs, he had given up 39 runs. His left arm was obviously uncomfortable when he began his tenth over; he clutched his stomach and finally collapsed to the ground after bowling his last ball of the 47th over.

The injury gave rise to speculation that CSK might not get Mustafizur available in the IPL. However, Rahman allayed those fears by posting on social media about his imminent arrival in India.
“Excited and Looking forward to my new assignment. Heading to Chennai for IPL 2024. Keep me in your prayers so that I can deliver my best,” Mustafizur wrote on X’s social account.
