IPL 2024: League to have sign language feed for differently-abled fans

IPL 2024: The feed, just like the normal commentary, will have ball-by-ball updates, for the deaf, hard-of-hearing and visually-impaired fans.

In a highly appreciative initiative, the IPL 2024 will have sign language feed and descriptive commentary for the deaf, hard-of-hearing and visually-impaired fans. Star Sports made the announcement in a release on Thursday, that it will work with India Signing Hands (ISH News) to curate customised commentary.

The feed will provide ball-by-ball updates using the sign-updates, as well as the regular verbal updates. “What makes it even more special is its ability to engage with visually impaired fans with commentators describing every moment of the game along with regular verbal score updates,” said the broadcaster.

CSK vs RCB, IPL 2024

Meanwhile, the tournament starts with the CSK vs RCB match on Friday, at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai, where MS Dhoni & Virat Kohli will be up against each other. There will be a lot of interest in the match, considering MS Dhoni has already stepped down as the skipper of the side, and Ruturaj Gaikwad has taken over.

As far as Kohli is concerned, he would be making a comeback of sorts after a two-month break from cricket. He had skipped the IND vs ENG Test series for the birth of his second child. So automatically, there will be a lot of interest in how he fares.
