Despite the Mumbai Indians‘ victory over the Sunrisers Hyderabad, concerns regarding Rohit Sharma’s T20 form continue to loom large. This low point comes just weeks before India’s T20 World Cup campaign begins. On Monday, after his yet another poor dismissal in IPL, India captain was almost caught ‘teary-eyed’ in MI’s dressing room. These visuals of former Mumbai Indians captains, Rohit Sharma, have sent shockwaves on the internet.

Early IPL 2024 promise fades

While Rohit Sharma started the IPL 2024 season strong, amassing 297 runs in his first seven innings, his performance has since dipped significantly. He has only managed 34 runs in his last five matches, with four single-digit scores.

Against the Sunrisers, Rohit Sharma was dismissed cheaply for just four runs by Pat Cummins. The dismissal visibly upset him, and he returned to the pavilion dejected.

Cameras later captured him appearing emotional and almost teary-eyed, in the dressing room. Many fans were concerned after seeing this state of Rohit Sharma while others were critical of his form.

Limited opportunities to regain form for Rohit Sharma

With the Indian contingent departing for the USA soon, Rohit only has two remaining IPL matches to regain his form before the World Cup opener against Ireland on June 5th.
