If there was one player, who entire India is waiting to see in action again at the IPL, is Delhi Capitals‘ skipper Rishabh Pant. The hard-hitting batsman has been out of the cricket field for close to 14 months, after a horrific car crash, but is finally on his way back. Over the last few days, it’s been confirmed that the 26-year-old will be part of the IPL 2024.
On Wednesday, Delhi Capitals posted a video from their official X account, where fans are waiting for him in Vizag. Meanwhile, the video was captioned as, “𝘿𝙞𝙡𝙡𝙞𝙬𝙖𝙡𝙤𝙣 𝙢𝙖𝙞𝙣 𝙖𝙖 𝙜𝙖𝙮𝙖 𝙝𝙤𝙤𝙣”.
Talking to Delhi Capitals, Rishabh Pant clarified that it felt like, he was making his debut again. “I’m excited and nervous at the same time. It feels like I’m going to make my debut again,” said star wicketkeeper-batter Rishabh Pant, upon being declared fit by the BCCI for the upcoming edition of the IPL.
“To be able to play cricket again after everything I’ve been through is nothing short of a miracle,” an emotional Pant said. “I’m grateful to all my well-wishers and fans, and most importantly, the BCCI and staff at NCA. All their love and support continues to give me immense strength.”
