IPL 2024; CSK impact player Shivam Dube opens on most important lesson learnt from MS Dhoni

The MA Chidambaram Stadium was painted in yellow with CSK claiming a 6-wicket win over RCB in IPL 2024 opener

Chennai Super Kings all-rounder Shivam Dube revealed that he has honed his game-finishing skills under the tutelage of former captain MS Dhoni, a lesson he strives to apply in every match. Dube once again showcased his prowess with a composed innings of 34*(28), culminating in him scoring the winning runs for the team in the IPL 2024 season opener against Royal Challengers Bangalore at the MA Chidambaram Stadium.

“Finishing the game for Chennai is always something else for me. That is what I have learned from Mahi Bhai and that is what I try to do in every game. It feels really good when you finish the game like this, especially in the first game of the IPL,” Dube said in a video posted by IPL on X.

Dube’s confidence has been soaring since his standout performances during CSK’s title-winning campaign in IPL 2023. With 418 runs in 16 matches last season, at an average of 38.00 and a strike rate of 158.33, he earned a spot in India’s T20I series against Ireland and Afghanistan in 2024.
