The likes of Mitchell Starc, Pat Cummins, Travis Head, Rachin Ravindra and Daryll Mitchell were bagged by top IPL sides for whooping prices. All the above were stars in their own rights at the ODI World Cup, with three of them being a part of the victorious Australian team.

1. Mitchell Starc
The star of the IPL auction in Dubai was the fiery Australian pacer, who was bagged for a monumental and historic Rs 24.75 cr. KKR engaged in a fierce bidding war to secure the deal. A integral part of the World Cup winning Australia side, Starc picked up 16 wickets in 10 games in the marquee event.
2. Pat Cummins
The World Cup winning Australian skipper was picked up for a whooping Rs 20.5 cr by SRH. Cummins, along with Starc, became the top two cricketers who are the highest-paid players in the IPL. At the World Cup, Cummins picked up 15 wickets in 11 games, apart from leading the side from the front.
3. Travis Head
The Australian opener reaped the benefits of his recent form as he was picked up for Rs 6.80 cr by SRH. Head scored a scintillating century in the World Cup finals against India to help Australia clinch their 6th title. With an impressive 329 runs in the World Cup, Head firmly put himself in contention to be one of the highest buys at the IPL auction.
4. Rachin Ravindra
The Kiwi was already on the radar of many team’s and was in the line for fetching a good price at the IPL auction. Ravindra was bagged by CSK for Rs 1.80 cr. The New Zealand southpaw impressed everyone with his consistent performances for the Kiwis in the World Cup. He was the fourth-highest run-scorer in World Cup 2023, with 578 runs to his name in 10 games.
5. Daryl Mitchell
Another Kiwi star that was bagged by CSK was Daryl Mitchell. The fifth highest run-getter of the World Cup 2023 was brought for a whooping Rs 14 cr after an intense bidding triple threat bidding war between CSK, DC and PBKS. Mitchell proved his consistency, with valuable knocks in CWC, adding 552 runs to his name.
6. Gerlad Coetzee
Another notable buy was Mumbai Indians bagging South Africa pacer Gerald Coetzee for Rs 5 cr. The fiery all-rounder, touted to be the next Dale Steyn, ended World Cup 2023 as the leading wicket taker for the Proteas, with 20 scalps in 8 games. He was bagged by the 5-time champs after a bidding war with LSG.
