IPL 2024 Auction: Steve Smith remains unsold, No comeback in Indian Premier League yet

Steve Smith played his last IPL match for Delhi Capitals in 2021.

Steve Smith’s poor IPL fate continues. He has found no suitors in the opening part of IPL 2024 Auction. Despite being on of the best batters going around, the 34-year-old went unsold two years back in the IPL 2022 auction and remains the same 2 years later.

As mentioned above, Steve Smith last played in the IPL for the Delhi Capitals (DC) in the 2021 season and made negligible impact with the bat. Smith scored only 152 runs at an average of 25.33 and a strike rate of 112.59 in eight outings.

Speaking about his overall numbers in IPL, Smith still has a decent record averaging 34.51 with a strike rate of 128.09. He has played 103 IPL matches and scored 2485 runs with 11 fifties and one century to his name.
