India all-rounder Shardul Thakur returned to his former club Chennai Super Kings (CSK) as the 5-time champions fetched him for 4 crores at the IPL 2024 auction in Dubai on Tuesday.
Shardul Thakur was released by Kolkata Knight Riders ahead of the auction. He was traded in for Rs 10.5 crore from Delhi Capitals last year. The all-rounder expressed his excitement to return to play in yellow jersey and said that he is looking forward to play MS Dhoni again.
“To have experienced both highs and lows, the two championships that I have had with CSK in the year 2018 and 2021, they’ll always be special. Looking forward again for this year’s IPL”, Shardul Thakur said in the video shared by CSK on X.
When asked about his feeling to play under MS Dhoni again, Shardul said, “I think playing under MS Dhoni is always exciting. Mahi [MSD] bhai is never short of guiding a young player. And when I started under him, he was a guiding force to me on the field and of the field. And even this year, I am looking forward to experience it all over again.”
