IPL 2024 Auction: Shahrukh Khan wants to pitch in with the ball for Gujarat Titans

IPL 2024 Auction: Shahrukh Khan, who was sold to Gujarat Titans for Rs 7.40 crore on Tuesday, said he was thrilled to be a part of his new IPL team.

Shahrukh Khan, who bagged a Rs 7.40 crore deal with Gujarat Titans at the IPL 2024 Auction in Dubai on Tuesday, said he was excited to be part of the team and hoped he could pitch in with the ball in the upcoming edition of the tournament.

Shahrukh Khan was released by Punjab Kings and there was, unsurprisingly, a lot of interest for the fiery middle-order batter at the IPL 2024 Auction. Punjab Kings also tried to bid for him and bring him back in the side but they were trumped by the Titans.

In 33 matches in the IPL so far, Shahrukh Khan has scored 426 runs at a strike-rate of 134.81. While his batting exploits are famous, Shahrukh has also established himself as a useful bowler and that is a role he wants to explore in a fresh IPL stint with his new team.

“It’s great to be a part of the Titans squad. I have been bowling well in the TNPL and I hope I can get that going.

“I will chip in with the ball as well if I get the opportunity,” Shahrukh Khan told Jio Cinema.

Shahrukh Khan said he reckoned he might lower down the order but was quick to add he would be happy to bat wherever the team needed him to.

“I will be playing at No.6 or 7, the way I look at it. I am ready for any role. I will be really happy to come up the order and play that role as well,” Shahrukh said.

Shahrukh Khan said he was excited about joining the Gujarat Titans because of the way the team has backed its players and added he was comfortable going into the new season: “I got a call from some of the Tamil Nadu players and they said the team will suit my character as well.”
