IPL 2024 Auction: Mohammed Kaif, Mohammed Shami's younger brother goes unsold in auction

While Mohammed Shami continues to shine for the India Cricket Team and in the Indian Premier League. However, his brother Mohammed Kaif unfortunately remained unsold in IPL 2024 Auction. Despite being the younger sibling of Shami, Kaif found no takers for the upcoming IPL 2024.

Mohammed Kaif, 27 year old remained unpicked in the Indian Premier League. Like his bother, Kaif is also a fast bowler and plays domestic cricket for Bengal.

Kaif has featured in 9 List A matches for Bengal in recent times. Back in 2021 he made his List A debut for the Bengal Cricket Team.

But when it comes to his brother, he is the star of the show. Mohammed Shami is currently the Purple cap defender after having scalped the most wickets in IPL 2023. He has been a star player for GT after winning the trophy with the outfits 2 seasons back and then became runners up last season.

Back in the recently concluded ODI World Cup, Shami warmed the bench for the first 4 matches. He then roared back to form to scalp 24 wickets from just 7 matches and ended up being the highest wicket taker of the World Cup.

Currently, Mohammed Shami is recovering from an ankle injury and as a result has pulled out of the India vs South Africa ODI series. He was slated to join the India Cricket Team with the likes of other seniors like Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli, Jasprit Bumrah who will feature in the 2 Test matches against the Proteas.
