IPL 2024 Auction - First ever husband-wife pair - Mitchell Starc & Alyssa Healy create history

Mitchell Starc created history by becoming the highest priced player ever in the history of the Indian Premier League (IPL). Now he along with his wifr Alyssa Healy becomes the first husband-wife pair to play in the IPL and the WPL respectively. Starc was bought by KKR in IPL 2024 Auction for a staggering price of 24.75 crore.

As for Starc’s wife, Alyssa healy was bought by UP Warriorz back in the inaugural WPL 2023 auction for a price of 70 lakhs. The husband-wife pair now are the first pair to play the IPL & WPL.

KKR break bank for Mitchell Starc

Mitchell Starc surpassed his fellow Australian skipper Pat Cummins who was sold for 20.50 Crore to Sunrisers Hyderabad. Mumbai Indians were ready top bag the Australian pacer, but in the end it was KKR and Gujarat Titans who were locked in a brutal bidding war. Finally it was the Kolkata outfits who roped in Starc by breaking their bank.

There is however a distinct salary difference between the couple. Mitchell Starc is slated to earn 73.66 lakhs per delivery which is greater than the overall money that his wife Alyssa Healy will be earning.

As for Healy, she was retained by UP Warriorz after a stunning performance in WPL last season. She played 9 matches and amassed 253 runs. Her highlight innings came against Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) when he hammered 96 runs unbeaten.
