IPL 2024 Auction is now just two weeks away. With the BCCI officially confirming Dubai as the auction venue, for the first time, IPL auction will be outside India on December 19. All 10 franchises have Rs 262.5 crore to spend at the auction with Gujarat Titans going to the table with Rs 38.15 Crore, the highest among teams. Lucknow Super Giants and Rajasthan Royals won’t have much to play with as they are left with just 13.15 Cr and 14.5 Cr respectively.
As reported by InsideSport before, a total of 1166 players have registered of which 830 are Indians and 336 are overseas. However, not all 1166 players will be at the auction. Instead, the list will be trimmed down to about 150-200 after franchises submit their interests. Some of the players who have not registered at the auction can also be added if franchises request an addition.
It must be noted that IPL 2024 Auction will be a mini auction before a mega auction next year ahead of IPL 2025. And as at mini-auctions, franchises tend to go overboard on players with bug sums, IPL 2024 Auction won’t disappoint either. At the 2023 auction, Sam Curran bagged Rs 18.5 Cr, the highest ever in IPL history.
