Shahrukh Khan, despite not having much experience, has always been on the radar given his big-hitting and finishing abilities. He entered the IPL 2022 auction with a starting price of INR 40 Lakh. In a bidding war involving Chennai Super Kings, Kolkata Knight Riders, and Punjab Kings, he was eventually bought by PBKS for INR 9 Crore.
In the previous season, Shahrukh Khan scored 156 runs in 14 matches with a strong strike rate of 165.95. Although his recent batting performances in domestic white-ball cricket haven’t been outstanding, he has shown improvement in his off-spin bowling. In the Tamil Nadu Premier League, he emerged as the leading wicket-taker for his team.
