IPL 2024 Auction: Fans to be allowed in auction hall for the first time ever

In a historic move, fans have been allowed to sit at the auction hall and watch the 10 teams bid for some of the most famous cricketers in the world.

The IPL 2024 auction is already set to create history. In a first, fans will be allowed to sit inside the auction hall as representatives from the 10 teams bid for players in Dubai.

As many as 333 players will be up for auction with only 77 slots available between all 10 teams at the IPL 2024 Auction. Kolkata Knight Riders have the most slots left to fill and it will be interesting to see how they manage with a total of Rs 32.7 crore left in their purse.

All eyes will be on some of Australia’s top cricketers including Mitchell Starc, Travis Head and Steve Smith. New Zealand batter Rachin Ravindra, who was in red-hot form during the 2023 World Cup, will also be a major attraction for the 10 teams at the IPL 2024 Auction.

Meanwhile, former Australia cricketer Tom Moody also backed Shahrukh Khan to find takers in defending champions Chennai Super Kings. Before the IPL 2024 Auction, the headlines in the transfer window were hogged by Hardik Pandya. After two successful years with Gujarat Titans, Hardik returned to Mumbai Indians.

Soon after Hardik’s return, he was named captain, replacing Rohit Sharma who had led MI to five IPL titles.
