Rishabh Pant all set for during IPL 2024 Auction:

Rishabh Pant has been out of cricketing action since he suffered a severe car accident in December 2022, resulting in the tearing of all three key ligaments in his right knee. The entirety of 2023 saw him on the sidelines, undergoing recovery at the BCCI’s National Cricket Academy in Bengaluru. It wasn’t until the second half of this year that videos started circulating on social media, indicating his return to batting. However, it remained unclear whether he had also resumed wicketkeeping.

Addressing the franchise ahead of the mini-auction for the IPL 2024 season, Rishabh Pant finally broke his silence on his speculated return. He revealed that he is currently in a much better place than he was a few months ago but emphasized that he still needs a few more months to achieve 100 percent fitness.

“Much better, given what I was doing few months ago. I’m still on recovery to 100 per cent but hopefully in few months time I will be able to do it,” he said.

Rishabh Pant joined the likes of Delhi Capitals coach Ricky Ponting, and director Sourav Ganguly during the bidding war at IPL 2024 auction. Delhi came into the auction with a purse of ₹28.9 Cr and have secured the likes of Harry Brook (Rs. 4 crore), Tristan Stubbs (Rs. 50 lakh), Ricky Bhui (Rs. 20 lakh), Kumar Kushagra (Rs. 7.20 crore), Rasikh Dar (Rs. 20 lakh) at the time of writing.
