IPL 2023: LSG vs CSK: Former South African cricketer and Lucknow Super Giants’ fielding coach, Jonty Rhodes, won the hearts of cricket fans during the recent IPL 2023 match against Chennai Super Kings at the Ekana stadium in Lucknow. When the rain started to pour down heavily, the former Proteas cricketer was quick to lend a helping hand to the ground staff, who were trying to bring covers to the pitch. The hosts were 125/7 in the final over when rain forced the match to stop. The match, later was eventually called off due to the persistent rain. Both LSG and CSK shared a point each and maintained their top three positions in the points table with 11 points each.

Earlier, MS Dhoni won the toss and opted to field first on a sluggish wicket. Deepal Chahar, who returned to the side after a long injury layoff, went for plenty in his four overs. Spinner Maheesh Theekshana picked two wickets in 2 balls before Ravindra Jadeja sent back Marcus Stoinis as LSG lose five wickets on 44 runs.

However, young Ayush Badoni came to LSG’s rescue as he along with Nicholas Pooran stitched a 57-run stand for the sixth wicket to steady the ship. After Pooran’s departure, Badoni continued the attack to take LSG to 125 for 7 before rain stopped play.
