IPL 2023: ‘Virat Bhaiya, Dhoni Sir have Huge Roles in My Career’ Yashasvi Jaiswal Credits his IPL Success to Virat Kohli and MS Dhoni, Check Out
“Virat (Kohli) bhaiya and MS (Dhoni) sir have played big roles (in my career). I have taken advice from them. Their tips have helped me a lot. I took advice from Rohit (Sharma) bhaiya as well. They have all played a lot of cricket and know the game very well. When you talk to them, you learn a lot,” Jaiswal said in an interview with TOI.
“When you see them on the field, their batting, fielding, body language or movement, their leg movements, the way they move their bat to play a particular shot, and the last-moment decision-making in shot selection, you learn a lot. During the IPL, I got the chance to interact with Virat bhaiya, MS sir, and Rohit bhaiya. They all gave me cricketing tips. Those are helping me a lot. At Rajasthan Royals, Jos (Buttler) and Sanju bhai (Sanju Samson) – their guidance has helped me in my game too<“
Jaiswal is currently second on the most runs list in the competition with 428 runs to his name in just nine matches. The left-handed batter is playing at an excellent average of 47.56 with his strike rate being almost 160. Jaiswal is just behind RCB skipper Faf du Plessis who has amassed 466 runs in just nine encounters. With the kind of form that he is in, Jaiswal will definitely be backing himself to win the Orange Cap this season and perhaps make a case for himself to be selected in the National squad.
