Samson, who is known for his elegant strokeplay and ability to hit big shots, managed to score 30 runs off 20 balls but failed to make it big.

After playing a few eye-catching shots at the start, Samson played a shot too many as he fell prey to Joshua Little while going for another boundary in the seventh over. Commentators Scott Styris, and Anil Kumble expressed their disappointment on air over Samson’s continued failure in carrying on the momentum.

Samson’s departure triggered a collapse as the hosts got bundled out for a mere 118. It was a rather insipid performance from the batting line-up who failed under pressure.

Fans were also left frustrated after another casual inning from the RR skipper and criticised Samson for his lack of awareness.

Gujarat Titans’ Rashid Khan and Noor Ahmad claimed a total of five wickets as they bowled out Rajasthan Royals for a mere 118 runs. Rashid Khan took three wickets, causing damage to the top order, while Noor Ahmad played a key role in preventing RR from reaching the 100-run milestone. Sanju Samson was the highest scorer for RR, making 30 runs off 20 balls.
