RCB organised a mega event at the Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bangalore where the fans saw the glimpse of their favourite players after a long COVID-19 break. The players interacted with the crowd, answered burning questions and overall had a gala time.
De Villiers took to Instagram to share his gratitude towards RCB and the fans and said that tears filled his eyes when he stepped into the balcony of the dressing room. “Tears filled my eyes when I stepped on to the balcony of our dressing room at the Chinnaswamy in front of a packed stadium. I never thought hearing the chants of ABD could beat the first time, but this time was different,” De Villiers wrote on Instagram.

“It used to be adrenalin combined with an extreme hunger to please the cry out of our fans to find a way to win, this time it was a sea of emotion that filled my body as I simply felt grateful to have had my time in the arena representing a proud city, an amazing franchise and incredible teammates,” the former player further added.
Stating that memories rushed back during his time in the stadium, not only from his RCB days but his time with the South African team as well, de Villiers said that he will be forever grateful to the people of India.
