When franchises have to submit RETAINED Players list? The 10 IPL franchises have been asked to submit their list of retained players by November 15, a senior official of a franchise said on Sunday.

It is understood that the BCCI has set the ball rolling for next edition of IPL and the mini-auction will be held in the third week of December in Bengaluru.

It is also learnt that even the salary cap is likely to be increased from Rs. 90 to Rs. 95 crore for the next season.

However at the mini-auction, the franchises can bid for players with the balance amount left after what they spent during the last mega auction and also with the amount they get after releasing the players they want to give back to the auction pool.

If CSK decides to release Jadeja they will have 19.45 Crore to spend at the MINI-AUCTION & can easily buy players of their choice

Why Jadeja & CSK are not on best terms? Jadeja joined the franchise back in 2012 but now has fallen out with CSK.

He was unceremoniously removed from captaincy midway through IPL 2022 and MS Dhoni was reinstated as captain. But the transition did not go well as CSK finished 9th with just four wins.

InsideSport has learnt that Jadeja hasn’t been in touch with the franchise since IPL 2022 and wants to move on. Although he has a three-year contract with CSK, he is upset with the franchise for not giving him a longer rope as a captain. Jadeja has already deleted all the photos and videos from his CSK days from his social media accounts. He has even unfollowed CSK.

  • Since being removed from captaincy, Jadeja has decided to sever all connections with the franchise.
  • Jadeja underwent rehab at NCA for his RIB injury.
  • But despite still being contracted with CSK has never informed anything about his injury to CSK.
  • Jadeja also has deleted all his CSK-related posts from his social media accounts.
  • Jadeja was also the only player who was not part of the video that was put out by CSK to wish captain Dhoni on his birthday.

“It’s clear he is unhappy and very hurt. He will look for the options, let’s see how things pan out,” said the person who works closely for Jadeja.

What made Jadeja so upset with CSK? Jadeja spent 10 years with Chennai Super Kings after being signed in the 2012 auction. During his time in Chennai, the Rockstar won two IPL titles, establishing himself as one of the finest all-rounders in the game.

One of the senior most members, the 31-year-old was handed the baton after MS Dhoni decided to step down and was retained for a whopping Rs 16 crore.

However, CSK lost six games in their eight outings under his captaincy. Jadeja even lost his form and managed to score only 111 runs and took three wickets in these matches. Finally Jadeja was removed from the captaincy.

Soon after the sack, Jadeja was ruled out of the last few games of the season citing a rib injury. Howevewr, the sudden departure from the camp sparked rumours of a rift with the franchise.

When is the IPL 2023 Mini Auction? The BCCI will release the official date of the AUCTION after the board’s AGM on Tuesday. But the buzz coming in from the sources is that AUCTION will take place in Bengaluru on 16th DECEMBER.

Bengaluru had hosted the IPL 2022 mega-auction in February earlier this year. According to the BCCI sources, 16th December, the city will once again stage the much-awaited event.
