IPL 2023: FanCraze Software Pvt. Ltd., a web3.0 company, plans to release metaverse player cards for four Indian Premier League teams: Chennai Super Kings, Delhi Capitals, Rajasthan Royals, and Lucknow Super Giants. Fans will be able to connect with their favorite IPL teams by owning these cards, and they will be able to build a collection and trade cards, among other things. FanCraze will add Rajasthan Royals and Lucknow Super Giants to its list of partners, which already includes IPL teams Chennai Super Kings and Delhi Capitals, the International Cricket Council, the Asian Cricket Council, Cricket West Indies, Virat Kohli, MS Dhoni, Rohit Sharma, and 30 other cricketers.

The company raised $100 million in a funding round led by private equity and venture capital firm Insight Partners, with participation from B Capital, in March of this year. It also received a $17.4 million seed round led by Tiger Global in 2021. Coatue, Sequoia India, and Dapper Labs were among those who took part in that one.

Anshum Bhambri, CEO of the firm, said, “We continue to pioneer innovations in sports-based digital collectibles, adding to our cricket marketplace. We’re excited to be partners with the teams to launch Indian cricket’s first digital collectibles.

He added that the first edition of the cards will go on sale this month, he added.The firm was set up in 2001 by Bhambri, Sundar Raman, who was the founding chief operating officer of the IPL, and Kushagra Kohli.
