Since joining the CSK franchise in 2012, Jadeja has been an integral part of their championship victories in 2018 and 2021. Jadeja and Stokes have both consistently been mentioned when discussing the top all-format all-rounders of the present.

The England Test captain, who is still recovering from a knee injury, may be unable to bowl in the first few games, but he will undoubtedly play a key role as a batter. Stokes is the newest southpaw to join the CSK team, joining players like Ravindra Jadeja, Devon Conway, Moeen Ali, Shivam Dube, and Moeen Ali.

CSK vs GT – IPL 2023 opener and eyes on Ben Stokes

Stokes’ arrival to CSK comes after he missed the previous league season due to a hiatus from playing competitive cricket. The English player then retired from ODI cricket and went on to become the Test captain of England.

On Friday, March 31 at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad, Chennai will play the reigning champion Gujarat Titans in their opening game of the IPL 2023.

CSK, who won their fourth IPL championship in 2021, finished ninth in the standings last season after winning just four of their 14 games.
