Michael Vaughan vs Wasim Jaffer: IPL 2023 Live: Mohammed Siraj produced a magical performance to set up a 24-run victory for the Royal Challengers Bangalore against the Punjab Kings in match 27 of IPL 2023 on Thursday. Faf du Plessis also played an exceptional knock despite a rib injury. Playing as an ‘Impact Player,’ Du Plessis smashed 84 off just 56 balls and shared a 137-run opening wicket partnership with stand-in captain Virat Kohli, who made 59 off 47 deliveries. However, Punjab’s bowlers made a comeback in the middle overs and restricted RCB to 174 for four in their allotted 20 overs. While it looked like Punjab Kings would cruise to win at home, the batting once again collapsed as the side got bundled out for 150 in 18.2 overs.

Insidesport

While fans were disappointed with PBKS’ batting debacle, former England skipper Michael Vaughan didn’t waste a chance to take a dig at former Indian cricket and Punjab Kings’ batting coach Wasim Jaffer.

Notably, Vaughan and Jaffer are often involved in social media banter and the Englishman once again took an aim at former Indian opener.

Vaughan commented on Punjab’s shambolic batting performance and cheekily asked fans if they who PBKS’ batting coach is.

Earlier, RCB were put in to bat and were on course to score a total of 200-plus after a flying start from their openers, who fired their team to 59 for no loss in the powerplay.

In-form skipper Shikhar Dhawan was unavailable for the second game in a row, but Punjab had enough firepower to chase down the target. However, they lost too many wickets at the start of the chase, and Siraj made the most of it by taking wickets with the new ball and in the death overs to end up with 4/21 in his four overs.

Jitesh Sharma’s counter-attacking 41 off 27 balls for Punjab went in vain as he ran out of partners eventually. It was RCB’s third win in six games, while Punjab suffered their third loss in six matches.
