Rishabh is currently recovering from a serious accident that took place near Roorkee on December 30. The car he was driving flipped over and he was rescued as the vehicle caught fire – that led to two major ligament tears – anterior cruciate (ACL) and medial collateral (MCL).
Rishabh was initially treated at a hospital in Roorkee and then shifted to Max Hospital in Dehradun. He was then flown to Mumbai in an air ambulance. Last month, the wicketkeeper-batter had shared photos of him walking on crutches with an shared an update about his recovery “One step forward. One step stronger. One step better,” he wrote in the caption.
The Capitals management is planning to include injured Rishabh Pant in the team setup during IPL 2023. David Warner will be incharge in his absence. In a recent interview with Delhi Capitals, head coach Ricky Ponting said that he has a couple of phone calls with Rishabh Pant in the last few days and he is trying to get him involved in the IPL 2023 campaign on some way. He said that having Pant in the dugout and the changing room will be something very special for everyone.
“I have spoken to Rishabh a bit. We are hoping to get him involved this season. I’d love to have him at all our home games. Having him in our dugout or our change room will be very special. However, David Warner will do a great job. He has been a successful franchise cricket captain in the past. He’s excited to lead the team as well,” Ponting said.
