The various posts of the BCCI and the IPL chairman will be officially confirmed in the Annual General Meeting on October 18.The fate of Sourav Ganguly, who is tipped to be replaced by Karnataka’s Roger Binny for president, will also be known. As for the chairman, Dhumal will have to straightaway get into the action.
The cash-rich league is set to have a mini auction before the start of the IPL 2023. The dates and venues along with major other decisions regarding the same needs to be taken as well. The purse for all the teams also need to be made and communicated to the teams well in advance.
There have been reports earlier suggesting that it could take place in December, though there is no official word yet. If it happens to take shape this year itself, it will be the second action of the year. The mega auction took place earlier in the year with franchises having undergone wholesome changes.
Teams have already started doing their home work for the upcoming auctions. More importantly, they have sent their scouts to different parts of the country to watch talents in the ongoing Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy.
