Ravi Bishnoi: IPL 2023 – Ravi Bishnoi revealed that he skipped the 12th board exams to be part of Rajasthan Royals (RR) as the net bowler of the team during 2018 edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL). The Lucknow Super Giant leg spinner further added that he told his father about skipping boards because the RR coach wanted him in the nets. While the leg spinner cleared the board papers, he could not continue studying further as cricket took precedence. Follow IPL 2023 Live Updates with InsideSport.IN.

“I missed Class XIIth boards as I was a net bowler with Rajasthan Royals. My father called me and sternly asked me to come back, but the coach told me that I will have to be here. Then I decided to skip the boards that year but finished it next year,” Bishnoi said on the LSG’s podcast.

IPL 2023: ‘It was a difficult decision to explain my father about quitting studies’ Ravi Bishnoi

Bishnoi can now look back on the decision to quit studies as a good one, however, back in 2018 the LSG bowler said it was difficult to explain to his father about quitting studies since by profession he was a government teacher. Bishnoi had to convince his father to let him play cricket because the coach insisted he was pretty good.

“It was difficult to convince the parents. My coaches then told my father to let me continue with cricket because of my talent,” he said.

Bishnoi is currently part of the LSG team. The leg spinner did not have a fruitful season last edition as he picked up only 11 wickets in 14 games. In this edition of IPL, the youngster would like to pick up more wickets and help LSG perform well in IPL. LSG begin their IPL 2023 campaign by playing against CSK on April 2.

Lucknow Super Giants skipper KL Rahul has joined the LSG camp for the upcoming IPL 2023 edition. The debutants had an excellent outing in the last edition as they reached the playoffs. The franchise will want to replicate its performance and try to grab the cup this time.
