IPL 2023: Hardik Pandya: Joshua Little – Gujarat Titans pacer Joshua Little lavished praise on coach Ashish Nehra and Skipper Hardik Pandya for showing faith in him. The Irish pacer created history as he became the first-ever player from his country to play Indian Premier League (IPL) season. So far, Little is having a mixed season with regards to his bowling, but the left-arm pacer is grateful for having Nehra and Hardik by his side. Nehra is pretty vocal when it comes to coaching, while Pandya comes across as a relaxed and laid-back person. Follow IPL 2023 Live Updates with InsideSport.IN.
“Like you said, both left-arm seamers and he is very very passionate about the game. And takes every second he can to share his knowledge with me. He pulls me aside every training session for 5-10 minutes and talks about plans, fields. He has been invaluable and a special coach to work with just because of his passion and knowledge of the game,” Little said to CricketNext.
Joshua Little on Hardik Pandya
While Nehra is always on the ears of players, Little says Hardik is pretty laidback, but a strong character as well when the situation demands. Pandya tries to remain calm and composed most of the time and backs players to deliver the goods
“A very laid-back character but a strong character too. Two things which go hand in hand and you can see that on the cricket pitch too.”
How has Little fared in IPL so far?
The Irish pacer has played four games and has picked up three wickets at an economy rate of nine runs per over. While Little has looked good in the power play, he has leaked runs in the death overs. The left-arm pacer says some things has worked for him while some haven’t. Little though wants to get consistent and try to be more accurate in the death overs.
“The season has been good, but like you said it’s been up and down. Some things haven’t gone my way, and there have been times where I have been happy. So it’s about making a more consistent show of myself. Other than that I am very happy.”
