Marsh was on the money right from the word go. The right-handed batter took on every Indian bowler as he dealt only in boundaries for his majority part of the innings. The 31-year-old stroked an unbeaten 66 off just 36 balls which included 6 fours and 6 towering maximums. He played at an astounding strike rate of 183.33 and also hit the winning shot against Axar Patel.
It must be noted that Marsh is also the leading run scorer in the ODI series against India. He stroked a 65-ball 81 in the first ODI encounter against the Men in Blue. As a result, he has amassed 147 runs in just two innings. With IPL coming up, his franchise Delhi Capitals will want Marsh to continue his fabulous form with the bat and play some magical knocks for his side in the upcoming competition.
“It was a bit of fun. Always nice to get a good start when you’re chasing a small total like that. I was hoping Head would get off to a flier and I could play it slow. To be honest, I’ve been enjoying playing swing and batting up the order,” said Marsh at the post-match presentation.
“(On Starc) He’s been brilliant, It is horrible standing at slip when he bowls because it flies at about 80 miles an hour off the edge. But it is great to see him bowl like this, we now have a rare chance to win an away series in India,” he added.
