But now that Faf du Plessis is on his way to recovery and is expected to be 100% fit by the next game. He will again take over the captaincy of the team and lead RCB. However, in his absence Virat Kohli has been successfully lead RCB for quite a few game.
“It was unexpected but nothing I’m not used to (stand-in captaincy). It’s been fun so far because of the way the team has been playing. Faf will be playing the impact role again. Hopefully he’ll be back leading from the next game,” said Virat Kohli during the toss against Kolkata Knight Riders.

Off late Faf du Plessis has played a very crucial role for RCB in a limited capacity. He has only taken the field while batting. With his waist and back injuries, Faf is still unable to field for his side. Therefore for the past couple of games, Faf de Plessis has been played as the Impact Substitution for his side.
Faf has only batted for his side which he has done brilliantly so far giving RCB a good start along with the likes of Virat Kohli and Glenn Maxwell. Meanwhile, he took no part in the field, while a junior player has replaced their skipper.
