Pant was seriously injured in a car accident on the Delhi-Dehradun route and sustained several wounds. The 25-year-old is said to have fallen asleep and smashed into the barrier while on the way to his hometown of Roorkee.
He managed to escape the burning car with the assistance of the first responders, and after being treated at Saksham Superspeciality Hospital in Roorkee, he was sent on to Max Dehradun. On Monday, he was moved out of the ICU.
It is anticipated that Pant’s injuries, particularly those to his knee and ankle, will prevent him from playing for at least six months. Therefore, the administration of Delhi Capitals wants their captain to be healthy before the 2023 IPL season.
