IPL 2023: Ben Stokes – Chennai Super Kings all-rounder Ben Stokes will arrive this week in India. The southpaw will join the other team members and begin training with MS Dhoni-led CSK at Chepauk Stadium ahead of their clash against Gujarat Titans on March 31. The England captain, who was brought for 16.25 crores in the IPL mini-auction will be playing a key role for CSK with bat and ball. Not only that, but Stokes will also be part of the leadership group, helping Dhoni strategize plans. Follow IPL 2023 Live Updates with InsideSport.IN.

For the unversed, CSK splashed a huge amount to acquire Stokes because he is tipped to be the successor to Dhoni. While there is no official announcement yet from Dhoni, it seems Thala won’t be playing the next season of IPL. Stokes has impressed everyone with his captaincy by leading England fearlessly in Test cricket. While IPL is a different ball game, CSK will be keeping a close tab on the all-rounder.

Stokes missed last year’s IPL due to a finger injury, but this season the southpaw will be eager to make an impact for CSK. Stokes has played 43 IPL games scoring 920 runs and picking 28 wickets.

 MS Dhoni’s return to the field will be greeted by a SOLD out crowd on March 31. The IPL 2023 opener between CSK and Gujarat Titans has been SOLD out, with 100,000 fans set to watch the game at the Narendra Modi Stadium. 

MS Dhoni’s Farewell IPL season kicks off at the gigantic Narendra Modi Stadium on March 31. The largest cricket Stadium in the world, Ahmedabad is gearing up to welcome the former Indian captain to their shore in style. All tickets for the opening game at 100,000 capacity Stadium have been sold out, 10 days before the GT vs CSK clash.

The match is also the first time Gujarat Titans play a home game in front of their fans. Hardik Pandya’s side did play the IPL 2022 final at a packed Narendra Modi Stadium, but it will be their first home game in history.
