IPL 2023: Harry Brook – Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) opener Harry Brook let his bat do all the talking after slamming a terrific unbeaten 100 against Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR). Before the whirlwind hundred, Brook faced the wrath of social media fans especially from India for his three consecutive failures. The pressure preceding the hundred was enormous on the English batter due to 13.25 Crore price tag. However, like a boss, the youngster shut the critics up and gave a savage reply to haters in the post-match presentation saying, “There are a lot of Indian fans out there who’ll say well done tonight. Brook’s statement did not go down well with Indians fans, who felt the Englishman played one stellar knock and is getting carried away. While some netzines appreciated the SRH opener for giving such a courageous statement, others felt it was unnecessary and that Brook might face such trolls for failing to produce substantial knocks in the remaining IPL matches.

While his one statement relating to shutting fans up might have hurt Indians, Brook immediately made for the other, by passing a hilarious family-related statement. During the century, Brook’s girlfriend was seen cheering from the stands, but the rest of the family members had left for England. “My girlfriend is here, but the rest of the family just left. I knew this would happen, as soon as they leave, I’ll get some runs [laughs]. I’m sure they’ll all be very happy for me,” Brook said amusingly.
