IPL 2023 Auction: It was a dream come true moment for J&K young all-rounder Vivrant Sharma as he was bagged by the Sunrisers Hyderabad in the ongoing IPL auction. The Orange Army spent a total of INR 2.6 crore to bag Vivrant’s services for the upcoming edition. To note, the 23-year-old became the third-highest paid Kashmiri player after Umran Malik (INR 4 crore) and Abdul Samad (INR 4 crore). IPL 2023 Auction: Who is Vivrant Sharma, SRH pay INR 2.6 Crore for Jammu & Kashmir All-Rounder, making him 3rd HIGHEST-PAID Kashmiri player after Umran Malik and Abdul Samad, Check Out

The Left-handed opener turned heads in the Vijay Hazare Trophy 2022 tournament. In a game against Uttarakhand, he smashed a 124-ball 154. As a result, Jammu and Kashmir went on to earn its maiden knockouts berth in the history of the tournament. Earlier in the tournament, he had top scored with a 62-ball 69 as J&K chased down a mammoth 343 against Madhya Pradesh.

Vivrant was the second-highest scorer for the team in the 50-over tournament, with 395 runs at an average of 56.42. He scored two fifties in the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy and racked up 128 runs at a commendable strike rate of 145.45. The 23-year-old has shown his big-hitting prowess against pacers and spinners alike. The youngster also has a cool head and can adapt to the situation and rotate strike when necessary.

Vivrant attended SRH trial camps on the recommendation of Abdul Samad

To note, Vivrant was a net bowler with Sunrisers last year and was recommended by Abdul Samad to give trials for the Orange Army. The 23-year-old is clever leg-spinner and holds several varieties in his bowling. If given a chance to play, Vivrant can bowl in tandem alongside Washington Sundar.

Born on 30 October 1999, Vivrant made his List A debut on 21 February 2021. In the same year, he made his Twenty20 debut in the 2021–22 Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy. Vivrant took up the game as his elder brother Vikrant used to play club cricket in Jammu. He would bat right-handed when he was 12 but after seeing his elder brother, who batted left-handed, Vivrant decided to become a southpaw.
