3. All-rounders
The Men in Blue and Gold released the likes of Daniel Sams and Fabian Allen from their squad. Plus, their senior all-rounder Kieron Pollard has decided to retire from IPL and will work as coach for the five-time champions. Sam Curran, who is part of MI Cape Town, might be on their radar. But the Englishman won’t come cheap and the franchise has other holes to fill. MI might be looking for some Indian options to fill the void of all-rounders in their team.
2. Indian pacers
Even though MI might have the serivces of their express pacer Jofra Archer along with Jasprit Bumrah, the five-time champions are in a desperate requirement of some Indian pacers. They released the likes of Jaydev Unadkat and Basil Thampi from their squad and will be looking to rope in some Indian fast-bowlers to find the perfect balance.

MI didn’t just release a bunch of pacers; they decided to let go of a few spin options too. Fabian Allen, Sanjay Yadav, Mayank Markande and Murugan Ashwin were among those ousted, leaving the roster with only one frontline spinner in the uncapped Kumar Kartikeya. Coming to the auction, MI might target England’s ace spinner Adil Rashid and try to boost their spin department.
