Jordan had been training with the Mumbai Indians for the past week. The England speedster had joined the MI camp, but the five-time champions did not announce whose replacement. Archer played the subsequent games before being ruled out for the season. The England ace struggled for form and fitness, picking up 2 wickets in 5 games at an economy rate of 9.50.
Archer was signed up for Rs 8 crore by Mumbai Indians in the IPL 2022 Auction. He missed the 2022 season due to injury, while only featured in 5 games this time around. It is a huge blow for MI, who also lost Jasprit Bumrah to a long-term injury as well.
