The batting all-rounder from Chhattisgarh was smashing all over the park as he played a cameo knock of 25 runs in just six deliveries. Runs galore in final over – While going into the final over SRH would have been thinking of 180 runs and around with Lockie Ferguson bowling. However, the man of the moment Shashank Singh had other ideas as he smashed Lockie Ferguson to three consecutive sixes to take the score to 195/6 and gave a fitting end to the innings. Shashank’s exploits were applauded by everyone in the SRH dressing room as he was giving an ovation with claps. Altogether 25 runs came in the final over.
Who is Shashank Singh? – Born in Mumbai, Shashank plays for Chhattisgarh in the domestic circuit and was eligible for Mumbai and Puducherry before making his debut in the Vijay Hazare Trophy in 2015-16 season. Shashank has prior experience of IPL and was bought for Rs 10 lakhs in 2017 by Delhi Daredevils. Shashank then made his switch to Rajasthan Royals (RR) in 2019 and in the same year he started representing Chhattisgarh in Ranji Trophy.

So far in the IPL – While he emerged as the cult hero smashing around the park, Shashank didn’t contribute heavily to the team’s cause until the Lockie Ferguson over. This was his sixth match in the IPL for SRH and didn’t get a single opportunity to bat while his solitary spell in the IPL saw him end with 10/0 against Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR).
Shashank Singh will now be hoping for an even better IPL as he tries to contribute more with his batting and bowling displays.
