Slow and steady for Virat– The half-century mark gave a big relief for Virat, but it was relatively at a slow rate. It took 45 deliveries for Virat to reach the mark with his strike rate reading little over 100. The slow and steady innings could be the perfect thing that the former India captain needed. In his innings he scored six fours and a six, and played anchor role in the team while captain Faf du Plessis was dismissed for a duck.
Virat thanks everyone – After reaching his 43rd IPL fifty, Virat was seen celebrating and thanking everyone. He raised his bat towards the RCB dugout where he was applauded by fellow players and teammates while wife Anushka Sharma was also seen clapping. Virat then looked at the sky where he thanked his believers and god as the former RCB skipper steadied the ship for his team.

Asked to open batting by Ravi Shastri – Throughout the tournament Virat was batting at No.3 and was failure according to his standards. Former India coach Ravi Shastri then jumped into the matter and suggested him to open the innings. The plan was initially a failure as he was dismissed for just nine runs, but didn’t gave up and has reaped rewards for his change in position. Earlier Virat had gone for ‘King Pair’ (back-to-back golden ducks) and was struggling for form badly, but Shastri’s advice looks to have worked this time.
